Campbell Bay Music Festival society Code of Conduct
We support music, art, community, education.
We create a space of shared belonging, and we value the diversity in our community.
In that spirit, we ask for your cooperation with the following guidelines:
Take space, make space:
Come with an open mind and open heart, make space for yourself and others to be authentic and creative without judgment.
Welcome, respect and include others to share their questions, ideas, feelings, and art regardless of identity, status, or experience.
Share openness for learning and dialogue.
Ask genuine questions.
Practice consent, boundaries, and respect:
Ask before touching! Read body language, consider power dynamics, sobriety and others’ ability to say no.
Create a pressure-free environment; accept others’ autonomy and decisions not to participate in activities, socializing or substance use.
If someone asks you to stop a behaviour, please respectfully stop.
Be humble; if you make a mistake, apologize, and move on. Say thank you if someone corrects you and learn from the experience.
Ask for support:
If something or someone causes you to feel uncomfortable, or you witness anything concerning, please come find our staff or harm reduction team, wearing visi-vests or other bright clothing! Or visit the Harm Reduction tent between the vendors and main gate.
Email us feedback! For anything non-time sensitive at campbellbayinfo@gmail.com
Practice self-care, stay hydrated, take rest, and communicate.
We do not allow discrimination or harassment of any kind. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism or ageism will not be tolerated. We hold the right to remove anyone who is harmful or disruptive.
The Campbell Bay Music Festival takes place on the island called SḴŦAḴ in the SENĆOŦEN language of the W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations. We are forever grateful to live and play on the traditional territory of Coast Salish Nations. Territorial acknowledgments are just a small part of dismantling the colonial structures that continue to have far-reaching social, cultural, and spiritual impacts on Indigenous people. We encourage visitors to engage in meaningful action through self-education, community building and wealth redistribution.
